Kan Yu studies is an ancient art. The purpose and its application are to serve mankind and help one to improve one's quality of life. The Kan Yu study is not about the Yang House feng shui alone, it also emphasize on the importance of the Ying House feng shui (cemetery feng shui).

The Ying house feng shui is a study concerning the home of the dead. Its theories and application unfortunately modern science is not fully able to explain. It is long belief that in China, the fortunes of families relied heavily on their choice of auspicious or good feng shui burial sites for their ancestors. Therefore Ying House Feng Shui practice is used to determine the correct places for burial. To understand science, there must be an object for study, to experience or experiment and through a proper system, an answer will be discovered. It is also a study connected to our body systems, thoughts and universal connections etc.

As for humans so called heaven and earth luck, the study of science is not able to neither apply nor determine the cause. The application of the Kan Yu (feng shui) studies to improve one life's quality by tapping the universal cosmic qi has gone through many studies and observations which were earlier done by our ancestors and the feng shui masters of the yester years. This includes the hardest part or section of the Kan Yu studies which is the Ying House Feng shui. The full text of the Kan Yu studies is divided into two groups, one which is the Yang house feng shui and the other is the Ying house feng shui.

If your ancestors were buried in a land which has the correct requirement of an excellent feng shui land, then you as their descendants will enjoy the good fortune given to you. But if the burial land which your ancestors were buried has poor or bad negative qi, then you too will suffer from the consequences of the bad feng shui. Why do you think that the ying house feng shui will cause such an effect to us in our daily lives? The answer is simple; it is because of our blood relations with our ancestors. Our DNA is the same, therefore if the burial land of our forefathers whether good or bad, no matter how we may not like it, it'll surely cause an effect in our daily lives.

If a geomancer wish to locate a good burial land, he needs to locate the cosmic dragon breath first. This is the first requirement of a good feng shui burial site. What is the meaning of the word dragon in the feng shui study? The word dragon as describe in the Kan Yu studies refer to the mountains or landforms ranges of hilly land that gently undulate. The soil on the mountains is refers as the flesh of the dragon, water represents the blood of the dragon, the rocks or stones is referred as the bones whilst the grass that grows on the mountains is refers as the hair of the dragon. What also qualify as excellent feng shui burial land, the soil on the land must have or consist of five (5) colours, for each colour represents the five organs of the dragon, which is the heart, liver, lungs, kidney and the pancreas. If such soil is found the dragon will be referred as a living dragon, then it's an excellent feng shui burial land. Should a burial land have such condition, then the facing or the direction for placing or burying of the dead is the next important step.

Once the correct application is applied, this will enable the descendents of the dead in achieving good fortune in life. But if none of the above mentioned is found on the burial site, then this land is considered useless. If being used as a burial site, the descendents of the dead will suffer even probably lead miserable life. If a burial site is already determine, any movement or digging on the land, not utilize before the tenth day, will be considered useless, regardless of good or bad feng shui. The qi (cosmic dragon breath) of the land will disperse once there's movement done to it. If an excellent feng shui burial land or site is found, do not do anything to it unless a burial takes place before the tenth day. Then only it will benefit the descendents of the dead.

How to locate a good burial in a memorial park or graveyard manage by certain associations.

Today there are many private memorial park and cemeteries belonging to certain associations, so it makes it easy for one to buy a burial land but most of the burial sites which are ready or developed today do not carry the requirement of the Ying House feng shui text that describe an excellent burial land. Most of the land is destroyed by development works or wrong installation of the landscape or buildings on the burial site. So where is there such theory that there is an abundance of good feng shui burial site or land which most claim available! Therefore, today if we need to locate a good burial land, we might not be able to follow the required info according to the ying house feng shui ancient text as such land is scarce.

The Three Principle Requirement To Locate A Burial Land In A Memorial Park.

1)      The location of the burial site must avoid strong wind. The correct location will be land that is windy yet not strong but wind flow is warm yet soft.

2)      The correct position, direction or facing is important and must be observed. To locate the dead person's correct facing, you need to seek out if he/she is a West or East group. Use birthdate to determine the compatible facing. The qi of the burial site must be in unity and harmony with the one that is to be buried in that land.

3)      Make sure, the burial site does not face a straight road or temple. Next look at the surrounding landscape, the contours must be a favorable configuration of the four celestial animals.

If the above three conditions is found on a burial site that belongs to a memorial park or public cemetery land, then such land has already pass certain requirement of the Ying House feng shui ancient text that categories this burial site as a good feng shui burial site.

Before a reburial work is done on an existing tomb, three conditions must be observed before the reburial works starts.

1)      If there is a live animal on sight upon making changes to the burial land, then avoid further carrying out works on the land.

2)      If the soil on the burial land gives out a warm sensation when you touch the soil or you sees mist appearing from the soil, do not move the tomb or continue the process for reburial.

3)      If you see a purple vine circling the coffin after digging, this is a sign that the ancestor's tomb is a prosperous burial land, do not continue reburial works. Stop immediately and redo the whole tomb.

Five conditions that require immediate changes on an existing burial land or tomb:

1)      A collapse tomb due to soil erosion or a tomb with visible cracks.

2)      A burial land which all plants show no life form, even grass will not grow on it.

3)      If adultery happens to be a major problem in the household or any live animals or pets in the household suddenly dies for no reasons.

4)      Someone in the household suddenly suffers from mental illness (no reason). Household faces robbery/kidnapping attempt.
